Generative AI tools are powerful at creating new code, but when they need to modify existing systems they need something they don’t have by default: knowledge of your environment.

An AI agent starts every task from scratch. It doesn’t know your architecture, your development rules, your data model, your security standards or how your teams are organized. Without that context, AI generates generic code that does not integrate well with existing systems, multiplies technical debt and disperses methodologies across teams.

What is CoreToScale?

The four pillars of CoreToScale

CoreToScale integrates with the organization’s operating model through four complementary capabilities:

Specification-Driven Development (Specification-Driven Development)

It establishes a unique methodology that covers the entire cycle: product owners specifying changes, scrum masters generating backlog, architects defining standards, testers validating acceptance, devops managing infrastructure and security and operation teams working under common rules. All supported by tools such as Spec-Kit, Skills and shared agents.

2. Centralized knowledge: CoreToScale-RAG

Converts the organization’s standards, templates and technical criteria into context accessible to IA teams and agents via an MCP server. Includes accepted architectures, languages, SSO systems, observability, security, frontend and backend design principles, cost policies and any set of rules that need to be applied consistently. Templates are semantically retrieved via RAG, ensuring that agents always work with the current version.

3. Technical Discovery: structured access to existing systems

It analyzes existing code using AI agents to build a Domain Driven Design (DDD)-based system knowledge graph. The graph models domains, user interfaces, processes, databases, APIs and dependencies, and is exposed via MCP so that coding agents can interrogate it in real time. This enables real systems to be modified accurately and securely, the impact of each change to be assessed and consistency with the existing architecture to be maintained. Complementarily, the vCMDB provides real-time access to the configuration of cloud systems and Kubernetes.

4. Governance and security: AI with clear boundaries

Defines what agents can do and what always requires human approval. It includes RBAC, cloud and Kubernetes (Kyverno) policies, action restrictions for agents (destruction of environments, removal of systems, publishing to the Internet) and mechanisms that force critical actions to be under human control. Security is no longer optional but a necessary condition for any IA adoption.

Technical Discovery: document your systems for agents, not just for people

Modifying existing code with IA agents requires providing them with a clear description of the system: how it is built, how processes are implemented, how database entities are modified, which APIs are published and invoked. Without that information, the agent is working blind.

Technical Discovery automates code analysis in an iterative way: in a first iteration it extracts the architecture, the main components, the user interfaces, the data model and the main APIs, generating a technical debt diagnosis. In a second iteration, it delves into the relationships between domains, generates diagrams validated by system managers and builds a complete picture of functions, volumetrics and workflows.

The result is a complete inventory accessible via user interface, query APIs and MCP server, allowing development agents to locate where to make changes, assess their impact and ensure compatibility with existing systems.
